Quilts!

I made this doll quilt for Ava to use the fabrics from a charm pack Kat had given me years ago, and to practice some techniques. Kat taught me a new way to do the binding, and it's SO much better than what I had been doing. I was also surprised at how quickly the hand sewing part went. Here's the back of the quilt, below.

This is the quilt top, middle section that I am working on for Ava's twin bed. It's strips made from clothes she wore when she was a baby, edged in chocolate brown. The wider sashing will be a fabric I designed and am having printed by spoonflower.com, it's just taking them a bit longer than I had hoped. (But hey, you can't rush totally custom things, right?!) Then I'll bind it with chocolate brown. This is something that I hope Ava will hold on to and cherish for her whole life.

Christmas gifts 2010

I made these bird ornaments for the ornament exchange at work. Pattern from Last-Minute Patchwork & Quilted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson.

I made 4 pairs of earrings for a friend who recently started wearing earrings again. (Sorry the pics are so dark...)
